Police say they’re searching for the man who stabbed a 23-year-old man on an MTA bus in Fordham.
“It’s dangerous and you still have a lot of people of people taking the transportation that shouldn’t be on transportation,” said Simone Arlotta, an MTA rider.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 2 on board a BX9 bus.
Police said the victim got off the bus at East Kingsbridge Road near East Fordham Road, when the attacker stabbed him multiple times in the back and left arm.
The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.
“Of course, people are going to feel unsafe,” said Jaheem Walker, a bus rider from Fordham. “I feel unsafe. You’re never going to feel safe here. That’s the sad part and it’s true.”
Police said the attacker ran off and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black backpack.
Arlotta said she’s on edge.
“Stay alert and pay attention to your surroundings because you just never know,” Arlotta said.
The NYPD is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
