Cornelius Stubbs, already serving a life sentence for a 2019 murder, has been handed an additional 25 years to life for attempting to have the mother of his child killed, according to the Orange County District Attorney.
The woman, who was the target of Stubbs' murder plot, was shot four times but miraculously survived the attack. Stubbs had ordered someone to commit the murder, leading to his recent conviction.
This new sentence will run consecutively with his existing life sentence for the murder of a 21-year-old woman from New Windsor in 2019, ensuring that Stubbs will remain in prison for the rest of his life.
