        Officials: Van strikes NJ Transit bus in Summit; 4 injured

        A van struck a New Jersey Transit bus headed to Short Hills Mall Tuesday morning in Summit, leaving four people with injuries.
        According to NJ Transit, a bus on the No. 70 line was traveling near Summit Avenue and Broad Street around 6 a.m. when the incident occurred. The van, which departed Irvington prior to the crash, was struck by a van carrying passengers.
        According to a NJ Transit statement, "The operator of the bus and one of the nine customers on board reported injuries, along with two occupants inside the van and all were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”
        Police directed vehicles around the crash as first responders worked to clear the scene and evaluate the patients. The cause of the crash was not immediately available.
