A Babylon day care worker is facing charges after drinking on the job, police say.
According to police, they were called to Pride and Joy Childcare on Deer Park Avenue after an employee fainted on Monday.
They say Maria Rubino, of Great Neck, was taken to the hospital. A paramedic smelled alcohol on Rubino’s breath and noticed other signs of intoxication.
After investigating, police say Rubino was responsible for caring for five children ranging in age from 4 months to 18 months while she was drunk.
Police say she was not the only employee assigned to the room.
Rubino is facing childhood endangerment charges.
