Family and friends gathered for a vigil in Mott Haven on Friday to honor 14-year-old Caleb Rijos, who was fatally stabbed last week while on his way to school.
A balloon release and an electric, mobile billboard with Caleb’s picture were part of the event.
It happened Jan. 10 around 9:30 a.m. near 138th Street and 3rd Avenue in Mott Haven.
Caleb was a freshman football player at Bronx Leadership Academy.
“[Caleb was] such a nice kid, such a beautiful kid,” said Delnyse, who said she was a former classmate of Caleb’s. “If the room was dark, he was always the light of the mood. He was just adorable. ”
