Soundview’s Bruckner Commons is continuing its transformation, bringing new stores and amenities to the area.
The once-aging shopping center has already seen major upgrades with stores like ShopRite, a Starbucks drive-thru, and community-focused spaces like health centers and a community center. Urban Edge, the developer behind the project, says even more is on the way.
Cold Stone Creamery is set to open just in time for summer, and BJ’s Wholesale Club is expected to debut in 2027.
Jeff Mooallem, chief operating officer of Urban Edge, says they strive to meet community needs.
“We try to listen to the community’s needs. We try to bring in retailers and food operators that address the community’s needs,” he says.
In addition to providing shopping options, Bruckner Commons is creating jobs. The expansion is expected to bring up to 200 construction jobs to the area, adding to the 500 permanent positions already available throughout the Commons.
Residents say they love the improvements. One shopper shared, “I do my regular shopping here.” Another said, “Great prices!”
With limited retail spaces still available, Urban Edge encourages business owners to act quickly.
