Police say they're searching for four people in connection to eight robberies throughout Soundview.
Officials say they stole items like iPhones, clothing and wallets, among other things. The incidents also targeted teens and young adults.
News 12 spoke with Dwight Rutty, a street vendor in Soundview, who says it puts him on edge.
“I wear an implant and hearing aid, I try and stay away from the area. And once it gets dark, I pack up and get out of here," said Rutty.
Two of the incidents happened inside Starlight Park.
People like Winter Samuels say it's scary.
"Parks, that’s scary because that's a teen's safe space so you can’t even enjoy that. Young kids are vulnerable," said Samuels.
A park employee told News 12 they continue to advocate for lighting and call boxes so people can enjoy the park safely.
