        Rhinebeck man arrested for making false fire reports

        The calls included reports of black smoke coming from a chimney, odor of gas, and an ATV in a ditch.

        A 23-year-old Rhinebeck man, Cyril Uebbing, has been arrested for allegedly making false fire reports to Dutchess County 911 between Dec. 23 and Dec. 26.
        The calls included reports of black smoke coming from a chimney, odor of gas, and an ATV in a ditch. Uebbing, a new member of the Hillside Fire Department, has been charged with five counts of falsely reporting an incident, a class "E" felony.
        Uebbing is scheduled to appear in Rhinebeck Town Court on Jan. 8, 2025.
