Families gathered in Redding Saturday for the annual frog frolic festival.
The event, held at the Redding Community Center, featured music, food trucks, games and a car show.
Organizers say the festival has been an annual event in town for more than 20 years.
"In Redding, the town seems to be fairly spread out when it comes to their households and this is one of the first events in the spring where people emerge from their winter hibernation and actually get to see each other; get to see their neighbors and their kids see their friends outside school," says Erin Dummeyer, the library's director.
According to its
website, the festival was originally started as a way to raise money for art supplies used for children's story times and "grew to an event that adds considerable revenue to the library's bottom line."
