Police: Redding woman stabbed by her son

Michael Amari called 911 just before 1 p.m., stating that he attacked his mother with a knife at his home on Limekiln Road, according to detectives.

A Redding woman is in the hospital after police say her son stabbed her in the neck on Sunday afternoon.
Michael Amari called 911 just before 1 p.m., stating that he attacked his mother with a knife at his home on Limekiln Road, according to detectives.
Officers arrested Amari on assault and cruelty charges.
Police say the victim has serious injuries but are not considered life-threatening.
Amari is due in court on Monday.
