        Police: Man arrested for impersonating Homeland Security officer in New Hyde Park

        Detectives say Seth Newman was driving near Marcus Road and New Hyde Park Road Sunday when he activated flashing lights and a siren.

        A Great Neck man has been arrested and is accused of impersonating an officer in New Hyde Park.
        Detectives say Seth Newman was driving near Marcus Road and New Hyde Park Road Sunday when he activated flashing lights and a siren.
        According to police, the 21-year-old had what appeared to be a black handgun near his hip when he identified himself as a Homeland Security officer.
        News 12 has been told he was arrested in Garde City Park shortly after.
        Newman is charged with criminal impersonation and criminal possession of a weapon.
