        Smoke remains in Livingston; officials say wildfire is 90% contained

        Officials say that 192 acres have burned in the area of Route 10, Mt. Pleasant Avenue and Eisenhower Parkway in Livingston, Essex County.

        Day number 29 without rain and very little in the forecast. Fire Danger remains very high as all of New Jersey remains in the highest stage 3 fire restrictions.
        The New Jersey Forest Fire Service says smoke will remain in Livingston until significant rain falls over the area, even though the wildfire is under control, at 90% contained.
        Officials say that 192 acres have burned in the area of Route 10, Mt. Pleasant Avenue and Eisenhower Parkway in Livingston, Essex County.
        The Forest Fire Service and the Livingston Fire Department have been there since Saturday. Initially, nearly 50 buildings were threatened, and six businesses were evacuated. There were multiple road closures including westbound Route 10 and Eisenhower Parkway.
        Today all the roads are open, and all buildings are safe. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
