Firefighters from across the state are coming out to pay their final respects to one of their own, who died helping fight the brush fires in central Connecticut.
Funeral services will be held at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford for Wethersfield firefighter Robert Sharkevich.
Wethersfield's superintendent of schools says school is closed Monday so the community can come together for the services.
Officials say the 66-year old died when a utility vehicle he was riding on rolled over on a trail.
Sharky, as he was known, spent 25 years with the Hartford fire department and 22 years with the Wethersfield volunteer fire department.
He also worked for Wethersfield Public Schools in maintenance and carpentry.
Sharky is being remembered as a kind-hearted guy who loved to joke around.
