A shooting on New Year's Day has a 39-year-old man recovering in the hospital.
Police tell News 12 It happened at 685 Stanley Ave. around 8:20 p.m. They say the victim is in stable condition, though additional sources say he is unable to speak at the moment.
The shooter is still on the loose and NYPD asks anyone with information to call the anonymous tip line at 1-800-577-TIPS.
This New Year's Day shooting comes after district attorney of Brooklyn, Eric Gonzalez proudly shared that shootings in 2024 were down overall in Brooklyn.
In total, the borough saw 287 shootings, this is the lowest number the borough has seen since 2019.
Regardless of these low numbers, 53 people were still reported to be shooting victims in the 75th Precinct in Brooklyn last year, according to NYPD. This is the same precinct where last night's shooting occurred.
