Loyal, loving, sweet and smart are just a few of the words volunteers at Sammy's Hope pet shelter use to describe Willow, a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix.

In addition to loving leisurely walks, Willow enjoys being around people. She's already had some training and can follow basic commands when walking on a leash. Volunteers say she's also very motivated by treats and she takes treats very gently, so any additional training should be easy.

Above all, Willow is in need of a good home with a caring family, the shelter said on its website.

"Willow is ready to share her love and loyalty," her online description says.

Staff members say this brindle-colored pup is up-to-date on vaccinations.

Anyone interested in meeting and possibly adopting Willow should complete an online interest form. After that, an adoption counselor will reach out to schedule an appointment.
