Shots rang out inside a Brownsville apartment building Thursday night, leaving a resident panicked - and a bullet hole in her door. Police say gunshots went off around 10:30 p.m. inside the building on Dumont Avenue. The NYPD said four rounds were fired on the fourth floor of the building. Those shots hit three apartment doors and a wall. News 12 spoke with a resident who described those gun shots. "This was like, pow, pow, pow," said a resident who asked to remain anonymous. Police say no one was physically injured, but a Brownsville resident says she feels traumatized. "I'm still extremely shaken by this. I don't know what their intentions were because clearly, we can see it was not good," she says. News 12 reached out to the building management but has not yet heard back. Anyone with information is urged to call the Crime Stoppers hotline.
