Open a century-old vault of remarkable art and history on a Road Trip Close to Home to the Bank Art Gallery in Newburgh.
The historic building was built in 1924 and was once home to the Newburgh Savings Bank.
A century later, the architectural work of art is revitalized to display wide-ranging mediums in the Bank Art Gallery
The nonprofit space showcases paintings, sculptures, photography and more, created by artists near and far.
"Our mission is to create a space where art is not only displayed, but it's also engaged with," Bank Art Gallery director Shirley Giler Noto said.
Beyond the marble walls, arched ceilings, and exquisite exhibitions, visitors can tour inside the historic vault.
The walls are made of former deposit boxes, some with interesting treasures still tucked inside.
"If you're an art collector, an artist or just someone looking for a cultural experience, I want this to be a space where you can connect with creativity," Noto said.
