The attack, which left the child hospitalized after suffering a seizure, was captured on camera. After the video went viral, Ignacio the owner of a community fridge contacted News 12, saying he recognized the teens in the video.
He says the same group vandalized his fridge last year, but that he tried to mentor them afterward, instead of pressing charges.
“I told them do the right thing, Seeing that video broke my heart," he said.
“It was my child. Tomorrow it could be somebody else’s kid being harmed and it could be even worse. We don’t want this to escalate," said the girls father over the phone.
