Local law enforcement officers honored in annual Hometown Heroes Ceremony

Among those were six officers with the Glen Cove Police Department that helped 15 residents escape a fire in their home.

Rep. Tom Suozzi’s annual Hometown Heroes Ceremony took place at the Glen Cove Police Department on Friday.
The ceremony highlighted the heroic work they did that contributed to saving the lives of New Yorkers in the communities they serve.
Twelve local law enforcement officers were honored from the 3rd Congressional District representing the Nassau County Police Department, the Glen Cove Police Department and three precincts in the New York City Police Department.
Among those were six officers with the Glen Cove Police Department that helped 15 residents escape a fire in their home.
News 12 also spoke with Jasvinder Mullarkey, with Nassau County’s 6th Precinct.
She received a report of a road rage incident that quickly escalated into menacing with a firearm. She used her knowledge of the community and acted quickly to locate the perpetrator, leading to his arrest. She says she loves her job and is just doing what she was sworn in to do.
