Long Island University in Brookville held its first-ever Tilles Jazz Fest on Saturday.
A crowd of festivalgoers joined a traditional New Orleans jazz second line in one of nine musical performances at the sprawling campus.
"We wanted to design the day so if you were a jazz lover, it would be great. If it was new to you, it would be great too," said LIU's Tilles Center Executive and Artistic Director Tom Dunn.
The event featured musical artists of all levels, from Tony Nominee Brandford Marsalis to the Harborfields High School Jazz Band.
Performer Georgia Heers marked a big milestone with the event.
"One of my dreams is to play in an outdoor festival, so this is one of my dreams realized," she said.
The school plans on making the Tilles Jazz Fest an annual event.
