The grand finale to the Bronx’s season-long concert series happened in Co-op City on Sunday.
The concert series brought artists like Michael Stuart and Brenda K Starr to share their music with the borough.
Barbara Gibson, a Gun Hill resident, said she had the event marked on her calendar for months.
“Wherever there’s festivals, I am there,” Gibson said.
She told News 12 she appreciates that she does not have to go far to have a good time.
“The atmosphere is to the utmost. There’s a variety of music,” she added.
Attendees danced, enjoyed the live music and got the chance to try new foods.
The event also marked the first time the Night Market made it to Co-op City. The Night Market provided local business without a storefront an opportunity to share their talents. Mia’s Cocina sold out only a couple hours after opening.
“The rain started, so it was a little choppy in the beginning. But then all of a sudden, the sun came out and the line was all the way down,” said Maria Bido, owner of Mia’s Cocina.
Bido told News 12 pop-up events like these help to expand her customer base.
“To be able to bring the food to them and have them enjoy every bit of it is just a blessing,” Bido added.
The Office of the Bronx Borough President told News 12 it looks forward to organizing another Bronx Summer Concert Series next year and brining it back to Orchard Beach.
