Fall Back into News 12 as we go back to school.

News 12 is in Elizabeth at Chessie Dentley Roberts Academy for the first day.

Staff and families can expect life size teddy bear mascot and a photo booth to welcome them back.

Chessie Dentley Roberts Academy is one of the district's lottery schools, so students come from throughout the city.

The Elizabeth School District is the second largest in New Jersey.

There are currently 28,088 students and 37 schools.

The district tells us they are extraordinarily diverse with 51 different languages spoken in students' homes.

They claim to be one of the top performing urban school districts in the entire country.
