Hundreds of thousands of golf fans are flocking to Bethpage State Park now that the Ryder Cup is officially in full swing and local businesses are hoping to win big too.

"Farmingdale is going to thrive on this," Farmingdale resident Joanne Cararciolo said. "I'm very excited!"

Breakfast places like My Grandmother's Kitchen, just a few blocks from the official PGA shuttle bus stop at the Farmingdale Long Island Rail Road Station, hope people stop by for a bite to eat before the first tee.

"We're prepared for that," owner Jorge Santos said. "It's going to be great."

Other places like Bagel Hut are catering for the event. Owner Gary Turturro told News 12 that his team is working around the clock, making hundreds of extra bagels per day to feed all those hungry and hardworking volunteers.

"It'll be a crazy week, so it's good," Turturro said. "It's fun."

Other places are dubbing themselves as the official Ryder Cup headquarters with special offers, extended hours and watch parties.

Vinny Napolitano's sons own and run Nunzi's, which is right next to the Farmingdale train station that is currently serving as the Ryder Cup shuttle bus stop.

"Friday and Saturday are going to be big," Napolitano said. "It's going to be packed, so we're going to do specials all day long. Drink specials, food specials. Trying out best to do whatever we can."

The Long Island Association estimates the Ryder Cup will pump $160 million into Long Island's economy and create 1,000 jobs.
