Police say Brooklyn Prospect High School in Windsor Terrace received a call Monday morning from an unknown person who threatened to “shoot up” the school.
Just two minutes later, Cristo Rey High School in East Flatbush received the same threat.
Students returned to class Thursday at Brooklyn Prospect High School after the holiday.
While many told News 12 they felt safe, parents said the incident is a chilling reminder of the dangers schools face.
“I have a daughter, and it’s terrifying,” said Dawn, a Windsor Terrace parent. “We obviously need to do something about guns and violence and the state of the world.”
Brooklyn Prospect High School has not responded to News 12’s request for comment.
The president of Cristo Rey High School told News 12 the school went into a brief lockdown on Monday and there are plans to do more drills throughout the schoolyear.
