A Morris County Man is facing charges for allegedly fatally stabbing another man inside a New Milford home.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office says police were called to 650 River Road just before 3 a.m. Thursday for a welfare check. Officials say that when officers arrived, they found 25-year-old Justin Wilhelm on the front steps of the home with blood on his hands. They say that Wilhelm was the one who initially made the 911 call.

Officials say that the responding officers found 24-year-old Mateo Ocho-Gonzalez dead on the second floor of the home. They say Ocho-Gonzalez was stabbed multiple times in the chest and neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say that Wilhelm possessed narcotics and stabbed Ocho-Gonzalez while inside the home. Their relationship was not immediately made clear.
Neighbors say that they were shocked when they heard the news of the stabbing.
“It’s something that we never had in this neighborhood,” says resident Edar Bineta. “We all know each other.”
Wilhelm faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder. He was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation and remains in police custody.
