Emergency crews were in Wayne Township Thursday night rescuing a driver from a sinkhole following a water main break.
The water main break was in the area of Demarest Drive – in a business park. Police say an SUV fell into the road when a sinkhole formed. Police said rescue crews removed one person from the car.
Fire crews have left the scene, but the SUV remains in the roadway.
Water was still gushing from the area when News 12 crews arrived Thursday night.
It was not clear if the driver was injured. Crews rescued the driver from the water while temperatures were in the 20s.
It was also not clear if the water main break was impacting any of the businesses in the complex.
