A water main break and gas leak have been reported on East Avenue in Middletown, with crews working to repair the damage.

Officials say crews were working to repair a minor leak from a water line when they hit a gas line that was mismarked, causing a gas leak.

The odor is detectable in the neighborhood, and bubbles from the gas underneath could be seen in the muddy water.

However, crews on the scene say the situation appears to be minor and are not advising anyone to evacuate.
