Climate activists rallied Sunday at Barclays Center to urge Gov. Hochul to put congestion pricing into effect on June 30.
"We know that congestion pricing will improve air quality around the region,” said Danny Pearlstein, policy director of the Riders Alliance. “…If Governor Hochul has her way…my daughter and my son will continue to breathe dirty air."
This comes just weeks after Gov. Hochul placed an indefinite pause on congestion pricing for the state.
Ella Ryan, co-chair of Climate Families NYC says it’s not too late.
“We can make a difference, but we need to act now…We're looking for decisive action on climate," she said.
