Major changes to the F train in Southern Brooklyn are being put into place today.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says the Coney Island-bound F train will only be running express from Church Avenue to the Kings Highway station skipping four stops in between.
The service disruption will last through July 13. It comes as the MTA says it is replacing signals along the route in order to modernize the line.
Starting next weekend, the F train will be shut down between Church Avenue and Stillwell Avenue for several weekends. They include the weekends of July 5, July 12, Aug. 9 and every weekend after that through Sept. 16.
During those weekends, the MTA says shuttle buses will be available between Church Avenue and the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station.
The MTA also says a portion of the G train service is currently shutdown as a project to modernize the line is underway.
