Police: 2-year-old boy dies after being found unresponsive in Islandia pool

Police say the child was pulled from the pool at a home on Sunflower Lane at around 12:30 p.m. He was unresponsive.

Suffolk County police say a 2-year-old boy died after being found unresponsive when pulled out of a residential pool in Islandia.
Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a child found unresponsive in a pool, located at 211 Sunflower Lane, at around 12:40 p.m.
Chosen Johnson-Pierre was pulled out of the water by a family member. Family started CPR until first responders arrived on scene.
Johnson-Pierre, a resident of the home, was transported to South Shore University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Anyone with information is asked to call Homicide Squad detectives at 631-852-6392.
