        The two days after Christmas are historically known to be the biggest return days of the year - $150 billion worth of merchandise will wind up being returned.

        “It’s frustrating, it’s cold, I’m in my wheelchair, and it’s no way to move around," he said.
        This year, retailers are cracking down on return fraud. The National Retail Federation estimates over $100 billion was lost to return scams in 2023.
        The Department of Consumer Protection has tips for return and refunds. State law doesn't require all stores to accept returns, but it must be clearly stated by the retailer. If the return policy isn't listed, retailers are required to accept the return of the unused and undamaged item within 30 days of the purchase date with a receipt.
