As we head through the afternoon, a few more clouds will develop across the region, and while most locations stay dry, there is a slight chance of an isolated shower. Despite the cool start, temperatures will rebound nicely, reaching the 70s by this afternoon.
For tonight, skies will be partly cloudy and comfortable. Temperatures will cool back into the upper 40s and lower 50s by Wednesday morning, making for another pleasant night across Long Island. Winds will remain light, and no significant weather issues are expected.
Wednesday looks like another beautiful day with mostly sunny skies and just a few passing clouds. Temperatures will continue their warming trend, climbing into the upper 70s and lower 80s during the afternoon. It will be a great day to spend time outdoors with low humidity and plenty of sunshine.
The warming trend really takes hold Thursday and Friday as summer-like weather arrives. Sunshine will dominate both days, with afternoon highs well into the 80s. A few locations, especially along parts of the North Shore, could even flirt with 90 degrees. The warm and dry pattern continues into Saturday with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s. By Sunday, we'll be watching for an increase in clouds along with the chance for a few showers as the next weather system approaches.
