Three things to know:
Temperatures were at frigid levels earlier today as many spots felt at or below zero degrees. This Groundhog Day has the high temps getting into the low 30s, which is something we have not experienced in over a week in the Hudson Valley. Speaking of the holiday, the groundhog saw it's shadow, so we can expect Winter to hang around for six more weeks.
Expect mainly dry conditions through this week with two exceptions. There is a chance of snow showers overnight Tuesday into Wednesday as a system passes. That chance will be mainly for areas at and south of NYC. The other chance is Friday afternoon into Saturday early morning with a clipper system moving into the region. Initial snowfall projections have the Hudson Valley seeing a coating to 2-3 inches.
Once that second system moves through, another round of Arctic air will be coming for the weekend ahead. Temps will trend towards the teens but sadly feeling colder than that.
