WHAT TO KNOW
The worst of the storm is out of the way. As we head into the overnight, there could be additional hit-or-miss showers that could exacerbate areas that already have drainage problems. A flood watch is in effect until 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Flash flooding remains the primary concern as we head throughout the evening and overnight. While there may be lulls or moments of dry skies, there will be additional rounds of rain into the overnight and early Tuesday. We have already seen between an inch and 2 inches of rain in the Bronx and areas of 3-6 inches of rain in Brooklyn, as estimated by the radar.
We remain in a high flash flood risk throughout tonight -- flash floods could quickly turn life-threatening. Do not drive through flooded water!
Rain will taper off into early parts of Tuesday. The second half of the day will be cloudy and cool. Those severe storms over the weekend helped a lot to cool us down. Temperatures will be more normal this week -- mainly in the higher 70s and 80s.
