Clouds increase through the morning, leading to a mostly cloudy and cool afternoon. Much of the first half of the day should remain dry, but scattered showers become increasingly likely during the afternoon, particularly after 2 PM, with the greatest coverage toward late afternoon. Rainfall amounts will be light.
Tonight (Lows: Mid to Upper 50s)
Showers are likely during the early evening before quickly diminishing. Skies gradually begin clearing overnight as the system moves offshore. Temperatures settle into the upper 50s in the city, with cooler readings in the surrounding suburbs.
Monday (Highs: Upper 60s to Around 70)
Any early clouds give way to increasing sunshine. Northwest winds strengthen during the afternoon, gusting at times and beginning to usher noticeably cooler and drier air into the area.
Monday Night (Lows: Upper 40s to Lower 50s)
Clear, breezy and considerably colder. Temperatures fall to around 50 in the city, with widespread 40s likely across many surrounding suburbs. The northwest breeze will make it feel even chillier.
Tuesday (Highs: Lower to Mid 60s)
Sunny, crisp and unusually cool for early October. Afternoon temperatures will struggle through the lower and middle 60s despite abundant sunshine. This should be one of the coolest days of the season so far.
Tuesday Night (Lows: Upper 40s to Lower 50s)
Clear and chilly. Temperatures fall to around 50 in the city and into the 40s across many suburban locations.
Wednesday (Highs: Upper 60s to Around 70)
Sunny and dry with lighter winds. Temperatures begin recovering but remain comfortably cool with low humidity.
Thursday (Highs: Lower to Mid 70s)
Mostly sunny and pleasant. Temperatures rebound into the lower 70s, making for a beautiful early-October afternoon.

Showers — This Afternoon and Early Tonight
A disturbance passing south of the area will bring scattered showers this afternoon and early evening. The highest rain chances arrive toward the end of the afternoon, but rainfall amounts should remain relatively light. Heavy rain and flooding are not expected.
Gusty Northwest Winds — Monday Afternoon and Night
Northwest winds increase behind the departing system Monday. Sustained winds around 15 to 20 mph are possible during the afternoon, with higher gusts. The combination of wind and falling temperatures will make Monday evening feel noticeably colder.
Sharp Temperature Drop — Monday Night into Tuesday
The biggest weather story early this week will be the arrival of a much cooler Canadian air mass. Temperatures Monday night fall into the 40s and lower 50s, followed by Tuesday afternoon highs only in the lower to middle 60s. Tuesday morning and Tuesday night will have a distinctly chilly fall feel.
Extended Stretch of Dry Weather
Once today's system departs, a prolonged stretch of mainly dry weather develops. Monday through at least Friday currently looks predominantly rain-free, with abundant sunshine Tuesday through Friday and temperatures gradually moderating later in the week.
