The News 12 Storm Watch Team is tracking the chance for Long Island's first accumulating snow of the season this weekend. The latest timing brings in a mix of rain and snow after 8 p.m. Saturday.
Then, travel gets more slippery through Saturday night as any brief mix changes to all steady light to moderate snow before midnight.
Steady, accumulating snow can continue through around until 10 a.m. Sunday.
Plan on snow covered roads and dangerous, icy travel when you wake up on Sunday morning.
This is likely to amount to a coating to 2 inches of snow and lead to slippery travel even after the snow ends before noon on Sunday. Temperatures will stay around or even below freezing all day on Sunday. Stay with News 12 throughout the week and weekend for the latest updates!
