A subway station guard was caught on video tapping customers with an OMNY card in exchange for cash.
The guard, who was assigned to the 8th Avenue N-line station, was caught on video five times, appearing to accept cash from riders before allowing them in. The investigation by the MTA Inspector General found that she was also using a student OMNY card.

The guard admitted to the inspector general that she has sold OMNY taps for cash many times and claimed to be using her own card. When she was told that the card was a student OMNY card, she claimed to have found it on the street.
