The potential is growing for a large coastal storm to impact our area on Tuesday. The storm will start off with a mix of rain and snow. At this time, accumulation is not expected, but it can't be ruled out briefly in the early morning hours on Tuesday toward north shore and Nassau County. The primary risk for Long Island will be heavy and widespread rain all day on Tuesday.
This weekend is quiet and cold to start with plenty of sunshine today. It's breezy but not nearly as windy as yesterday. Highs are in the low 40s, which are well below average.
Sunday is cloudy and wet, with rain likely most of the day. A brief wintry mix is possible early on Sunday morning, but no accumulation is expected.
The upcoming week is much colder than average. Colder than average temperatures are likely through at least the first half of December, and the storm track will be active which gives us a chance for winter weather in the upcoming weeks.
