Overnight, winds will diminish, and clouds will increase. The rest of the weekend will be calm. Then, on Monday, heavy rain and damaging winds are expected. Here's everything you need to know:
SUNDAY - More clouds, less wind
Sunday is mostly cloudy, but dry with high temperatures in the middle to upper 40s. Winds are light in the morning, then increase to 15 mph from the east in the afternoon. Stray showers are expected overnight.
Low Risk for Strong and Severe Storms on Monday
A warm front will move through Monday morning and give us the chance for scattered rain and thunderstorms, some of which may be strong. At this time, both the morning and evening commutes appear to be impacted. Within these strong storms, winds could be damaging from 40 to 50 mph. There is a low risk for flash flooding, but be aware that some isolated storms can produce heavy downpours, leading to flood concerns.
It will be windy all day, too, with some gusts between 25 and 45 mph. Plan on needing extra travel time on Monday. Scattered power outages and ponding of water will be possible. Rain totals between 1 and 2 inches are expected, with locally higher amounts possible.
Blast of cold on Tuesday for St. Patrick's Day
The warm front will be followed by a cold front on Tuesday morning. There is a brief chance for a wintry mix to occur during the morning hours as temperatures plummet to the 30s. However, we do not expect any accumulation from this.
The rest of Tuesday (St. Patrick's Day) will be on the cloudy end with some sunshine peering through, backed by gusty winds around 30 mph. Temperatures will remain in the 40s throughout the day.
