It's another hazy, hot, and humid day in the borough with heat index values near 100-degrees this afternoon. Pop up thunderstorms are possible this evening
Wind will be the main problem, but all of the same factors are at play with today's potentially severe storms: Wind, hail, rain, lightning, and flooding.
Today's heat has the potential to break records! The previous record for Central Park is 93 degrees. We are forecasting the low to mid-90s - so there is the potential to see that record shattered!
The weekend is hot and less humid with plenty of sunshine Saturday and for the first part of Sunday. However, thunderstorms are expected after 7 p.m. on Sunday evening so be aware if you have plans on Sunday night.
Next week's temperatures will be near normal. No widespread rain is not expected for the upcoming work week.
