Keep a rain jacket and umbrella with you this evening. There are off and on rain showers scattered across Long Island that will continue to be the case through tonight. A quick downpour with a rumble of thunder cannot be ruled out, but these are mostly light to moderate rain showers. Temperatures are still warm in spots but dropping through the 50s during the evening and eventually lows will reach the lower 40s all across Nassau and Suffolk Counties into Thursday morning with even some areas of fog. It will also become breezy overnight with some wind gusts near 25 mph, mostly after midnight.

It was once again a day with a wide range of temperatures. Much of Long Island got to experience temperatures well into the 60s and 70s, but the East End stayed in the 40s and 50s. Islip broke the previous high temperature record for today's date before noon! A high of 72 degrees was recorded at Islip MacArthur Airport, breaking the previous record by five degrees. Hopefully you got to enjoy some outdoor time between a few raindrops today.

Tomorrow is going to feel much colder no matter where you are on Long Island. It will quite honestly feel chilly all day with highs in the lower to middle 40s with cloudy and breezy weather all day. There can even be some patchy fog around.

There will also be an ongoing chance for spotty light rain showers and drizzle at any point in the day on Thursday, but it is not raining steadily all day.

Lows Thursday night will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s with a few scattered light rain showers still.

FRIDAY: DECENT! Mostly cloudy with a few breaks of sun possible after some lingering early morning rain showers. It is looking good for the Yankees home opener in the Bronx. Highs on Long Island will be near 58 degrees. Lows near 50 degrees.

SATURDAY: Best half of the weekend -- A mix of sun and clouds. Highs around 65 degrees. A spotty rain shower is possible, mainly late in the day. Lows near 47 degrees.

SUNDAY: EASTER -- Mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers. The afternoon and evening looks wetter than the morning, but there can be some scattered rain showers in the morning, too. Highs around 59 degrees. Lows near 39 degrees.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs around 52 degrees. Lows near 37 degrees.

TUESDAY: Sun and clouds. Highs around 50 degrees. Lows near 36 degrees.

WEDNESDAY: Sun and clouds. Highs around 48 degrees. Lows near 35 degrees.
