It may be October, but Friday will feel more like summer across the area. Expect plenty of sunshine, a southwest breeze and temperatures climbing into the low 80s. A few showers could develop Friday night as a cold front moves through.

Much cooler air arrives Saturday, bringing plenty of sunshine, but temperatures dropping back into the low 70s. Sunday stays on the cool side, with clouds mixing with sunshine and a chance of rain developing during the afternoon.

The start of next week brings a return to dry weather, but temperatures take another step down. Monday will be mostly sunny with highs around 70, followed by a much cooler stretch Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs only in the low to mid-60s.

Friday: Mostly sunny, warm and breezy with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and noticeably cooler. Highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Sunday: Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon rain. Highs in the mid- to upper 60s.

Monday: Mostly sunny and cool with highs in the upper 60s to around 70.

Tuesday: Sunny but chilly with highs in the low to mid-60s.

Wednesday: Plenty of sunshine with highs in the low to mid-60s.
