The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General has released a video from a deadly police-involved shooting in Haddon Township last year.
Officials say that police got a 911 call on Nov. 2, 2024, about an attempted burglary at an apartment complex in the Westmont section of town. They say that when officers arrived, they found blood in the lobby and elevator.
Officials say Keith Edelin was at the top of a staircase with a knife in his hands. Police told him to drop the nice multiple times, but he refused, according to officials.
The attorney general’s office says officers shot Edelin when he walked toward the officers with the knife. He died at the hospital.
