John June has been holding St. Patrick's Day celebrations at Mickey's Community Restaurant on the West End of Bridgeport since he bought the business in 1979. "We always go all out for our customers, pouring love into everything we do," June told News 12. "But this year, the celebration's going to be bittersweet -- because I'm retiring after 46 years.” Mickey's has long been a Bridgeport mainstay – well known for its homestyle cooking and cozy atmosphere. "I'm not even Irish, but everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day. This holiday's more popular than Christmas, believe it or not, and I can't wait to celebrate along with all my customers," June said. He said everyone is welcome to his St. Patrick's Day celebration beginning at noon Monday, at 1018 Maplewood Ave., on the West End of Bridgeport.
