Alpha Sigma Phi has closed its chapter at Rutgers due to hazing, according to fraternity officials.
The Rutgers student who was critically injured on campus was initially in critical condition. As of Friday afternoon, he is in stable condition.
The school released the following statement:
“Alpha Sigma Phi has closed the chapter at Rutgers for hazing. Members directly or indirectly involved will be permanently expelled. We wish the young victim the best in his recovery and we continue to hold him and his family in our thoughts.”
