23rd annual Tarrytown Halloween parade and block party kicks off Saturday

What started as a small community gathering 23 years ago has grown into a major event that attracts people from across the Hudson Valley, The United States and from around the globe.
Organizers say this year's parade has about 130 acts, including bands, floats and more. Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley has been named as this year's grand marshal.
The event attracts upward of 15,000spectators. Visitors, even people who live locally, are strongly urged to take a train to the Tarrytown station where shuttles will be provided. Police will begin closing down area roadways in the early afternoon. Parking on Main Street ends at 1 p.m., and the street closes at 2 p.m. There will be no parking along Route 9 at 2 p.m., and police say they will likely shut down the roadway around 4:30 p.m.
The parade steps off at Patriot's Park at 5 p.m. The procession moves up Broadway then turns down Main Street where the celebration continues with the block party complete with live music, food and more.
