Halloween is a week away and the cost of sweet treats seems to climb each year. However, this October we may reach a new record.
The National Retail Federation's Annual Halloween consumer survey came out revealing total Halloween spending in 2025 is expected to reach a record $13.1 billion. Some say it may give people pause to spend on trick or treaters.
The reason for the change in price could be due to a shortage in cocoa, making chocolate more expensive to make. It could also be contributed to supply chain issues or tariffs. It is certainly a ripple effect that people are feeling now that it's time to run out and grab bags of candy for Halloween.
Also, you need to consider the price of costumes too, it becomes costly quickly. Then, there's also the cost of decorations!
