Construction on roads seems to be everywhere: the Bruckner Expressway, I-95, Pelham Parkway and more. Focusing on construction, we're taking a look at where it is, what's being fixed and how it will impact you on the roads.
News 12’s Lindsay Tanney shows us the construction on the Bronx River Parkway, The Hutchinson River Parkway, and the I-95.
On the Bronx River Parkway, the Department of Transportation says it is making traffic lanes wider, adding shoulders, and replacing two bridges between East Tremont Avenue and Bronx Park. They’ll also increase access for pedestrians and cyclists along the Bronx River Greenway.
On the Hutchinson River Parkway, the DOT is reconfiguring the ramps because they are too close to each other and caused congestion. The DOT is also working on widening pedestrian and bicycle paths.
On I-95, The Thruway Authority says it’s making pavement repairs to improve the road’s structural integrity. It is also rehabilitating 10 vehicle bridges and ramps and one pedestrian bridge. The Thruway Authority says these bridges are essential in connecting residents to neighborhoods in Co-op City and Baychester.
