Four beaches in Westchester County ranked among the lowest for water quality, according to the new "Long Island Sound Beach Report."
Harbor Island Beach, Hudson Park, Rye Town Park, and Rye Playland Beach were all in the bottom ten. The effects of more frequent and severe storms are partly to blame, "Save the Sound" officials said.
Officials stated storm runoff is polluting the Sound. They believe upgrading septic systems will help. More than 200 beaches were included in the report.
