A West Sayville teen who police say was fatally shot by her ex-boyfriend in Nesconset last week is being remembered by the ballet studio where she used to dance.
The American Ballet Studio in Bayport told News 12 that will line the studio with pink ribbons in honor of 18-year-old Emily Finn.
The studio is also establishing a scholarship in Emily’s name and dedicating this year’s “Nutcracker” performance to her.
The Uvalde Foundation for Kids says it will plant a tree in Emily’s memory at the Finger Lakes National Forest.
News 12 reported that Finn, 18, was visiting her ex-boyfriends house after breaking up with him over the phone. Police say she wanted to talk in person and return some items to him.
"He survived the shot and was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital,” said Lt. Detective Kevin Beyrer.
The 17-year-old, who has not yet been who is now facing murder charges.
