Police said two people were arrested following a dispute about driving that spilled out onto a busy Yonkers street on Tuesday.
According to a video that News 12 obtained, the fight involved multiple women fighting each other right in the middle of Nepperhan Avenue.
The video was filmed by Fathi Ali, a gas station worker who said he watched the dispute unfold alongside a priest.
"He put his car here and he saw the fight. It's actually kind of funny because one of the customers came inside and screamed to the priest, 'Father, they need a blessing,' Ali said.
Yonkers police said the fight started over a dispute about entering and exiting a parking lot the wrong way.
Police said it escalated when a person reached through a car window and took a purse. This alleged action caused the confrontation to spill into the street.
One of the people in the video, who wants to remain anonymous, shares why they stepped in to help and break up the fight.
"I was right here. I initially thought it was a car accident, but then when I went up close, I seen them hitting each other," the witness said.
The witness said they didn't realize they knew one of the women until after they stepped in to help.
"It was my cousin's brother's wife...I felt terrible, but thank God I was there to help them," the witness said.
Police said an adult woman and a girl were taken into custody in connection with the incident. The adult faces robbery and assault charges.
Another man in Yonkers called for more human decency.
"I think it's kind of ridiculous how people don't have a shame to do that in the streets, in the middle of the road, not caring, there could be a distracted driver," the man said.
